GRADE 12 Student, Nishad Rathod Receives SHARP Service Award

Nishad Rathod (VE4NIR) obtained his basic amateur radio certification when he was in grade 10. His classes were offered through the University of Manitoba Faculty of Engineering. Nish recently received recognition for his long time contributions to the Shaftesbury High Altitude Robotics Project when he was awarded an Icom hand transceiver donated by local ham VE4EO. Other SHARP hams offered their congratulations to India Romeo. RED and ELF received their certification in February through classes conducted by WARC - the Winnipeg Amateur Radio Club at Shaftesbury High School. Shaftesbury recently hosted the May WARC meeting in the library.

Many thanks go to Echo Oscar, November India Romeo, the U of M Faculty of Engineering and WARC!

The Winnipeg Amateur Radio Club (WARC) will hold the next certification course on September 21st. Registration is online and you can pay via PayPal. http://winnipegarc.org/education.html
